Digitally submit a pre-written message to the U.S. Senate and House expressing how you value the Department of Education and gutting it is not acceptable.
The President is currently stating how our children’s education metrics indicate failure. His solution is to remove all assistance at the federal level (Executive Order to dismantle the Education Department), leaving the success of America’s education to disparate individual state policies.
Think about how the institutions of private, public, and charter schools are funded. Watch how the quality of each state’s educational system will vary pending on which state is focused on separating the socioeconomic classes.
The middle class will also have less opportunities to obtain federally supported college loans and will have to go to the private institutions that profit through high interest rates and fees. Young adults with families that cannot afford to pay upfront nor save for college will not have future opportunities.
